Our story · Since 1966

60 years caring for Mexico's vision,
border to border

It all began with a couple and a simple idea: seeing well is part of living well.

1966

The first shop

In 1966, Jorge Aranda Marín and Rosalinda Tello Marín opened an optical shop in downtown Tuxtla Gutiérrez. They had nothing but their trade, their name, and the drive to care for their community. Over the years, that shop would become the longest-standing optical practice in Chiapas.

Decade after decade, families kept coming back. They brought their children and, later, their grandchildren. That trust allowed Jarmar to grow beyond downtown Tuxtla and open locations across the state — and even beyond it. The family name stopped being just a name and became a place people knew they could turn to.

1995

The second generation arrives

Jorge Aranda Tello, son of the founders, joined the business after studying optometry at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes and took charge of the optometry practice. With him, Jarmar deepened its clinical vocation and began becoming what it is today: a clinic where diagnosis comes first.

1999

Plaza Crystal and the family at the helm

Rosalinda Aranda Tello, the eldest daughter, joined to lead the administrative side. With her, the founders' children were at the helm, each in their own field. In those years the Plaza Crystal location opened its doors — still serving Tuxtla to this day.

2017

The third generation

Germán González Aranda, eldest grandson and Rosalinda's son, joined the company with a clear mission: to take Jarmar further.

2020

Jarmar crosses the country

That drive crossed the country. In January 2020, Jarmar opened a location in Tijuana, joining Mexico's two ends — from the deep south of Chiapas to the northern border. The vision was big: serving medical tourism and bringing Jarmar's clinical strength to Baja California.

2021

Tijuana gains strength

Diana González Aranda, second grandchild and Rosalinda's daughter, took over the operation and administration of the Tijuana location, along with the brand's marketing efforts.

2022

Jarmar Eyewear is born

Jarmar Eyewear was born — the house line of frames. Today it is the brand our patients choose most, and proof that a family name from Chiapas can also dress the way you look.

That same year, Jarmar strengthened its home in Chiapas with the opening of the Arboledas location in Tuxtla. The third generation had joined the business, and the brand was growing at both ends at once.

2026

The next stage

Alejandro Aranda Tello joined the company as a strategic and financial advisor, bringing his experience to guide Jarmar through its next stage of growth.

Sixty years later, Jarmar remains what that first shop was in 1966: a place where one family cares for the eyesight of other families. We are Mexico's only Clínica Óptica Boutique, leaders in scleral lenses that restore vision to those who thought it was lost. We are still here for the same reason as always: so Mexico can see better, border to border.
